➡️ NICU is such a highly specialized unit. You care for the sickest and tiniest babies. The smallest baby can weigh as little as 500 grams (1.1 pounds) and can be born as young as 23 weeks (vital age)!! ⠀

➡️ You can advance in your career and become an ECMO nurse, resuscitation nurse, transport nurse, charge nurse, nurse manager, nurse educator, or even a neonatal nurse practitioner. ⠀

➡️ NICU has the best of both worlds. You can work in a nursery or ICU. Each side has its perks. So it’s not always constantly hectic and can have its stable moments. ⠀

➡️Seeing babies progress and finally be able to get discharged from the NICU is the most satisfying feeling! And it truly makes me happy knowing I can make a difference in tiny steps 😊⠀
