😊 As a 4 year NICU nurse, I am considering my options to advance further into my career. Here are a list of advancement options for those who are interested in becoming NICU nurses and the paths you can take as you grow further into your career: ⠀
⠀
➡️ Neonatal Nurse Practitioner - BSN, minimum 2 years bedside, and then 2-3 years NNP program (depending on how accelerated you want).⠀
⠀
➡️ Charge Nurse - preferred BSN, just depends on how many years of experience you have, and each hospital requirements vary. ⠀
⠀
➡️ Resuscitation Nurse - delivery training provided by your unit depending on how many years of experience you have. ⠀
⠀
➡️ Transport Nurse - years of bedside experience, resuscitation experience, extensive training, various certifications required (intubation, line placement, etc). Each hospital requirements vary. ⠀
⠀
➡️ ECMO Nurse - years of bedside experience, extensive ECMO training and courses provided by your unit. ⠀
⠀
➡️ Nurse Educator - BSN, Minimum 2 years of experience, and then masters in clinical education (MSN-CNS).⠀
