👶🏻 Can I Be A NICU Nurse Without NICU Experience? 👩🏻‍⚕️ ⠀⠀

🤔 So I’ve been getting a lot of questions from you guys about whether or not you can be a NICU nurse coming from a different work background like peds, adults, etc. ⠀

👏🏻 And let me tell you that you MOST DEFINITELY can!!! A few of my coworkers and even one that I trained, came from adult back grounds working in Med surg and acute care facilities. You DO NOT need to have NICU experience. ⠀

🙈 I will admit that it may be a bit difficult to find that position BUT just keep looking and don’t give up applying!! ⠀

☺️ I think more than anything, employers will look at you as a person and your personality. Are you a person that’s willing to grow and learn, a team player, positive attitude, flexible to change, quick to act, willing to contribute within the unit, etc. So share those experiences in your interview and prove that you are or can be THAT person!! ⠀

❓ For those working in different units, have you thought about switching to a completely different unit?
